‘Scream 7’ Director Christopher Landon Leaves

Director Christopher Landon left “Scream 7.”

The “Happy Death Day” filmmaker wrote on X/Twitter Saturday, “I guess now is as good a time as any to announce I formally exited ‘Scream 7’ weeks ago.

Some will be disappointed, others happy. My dream career became a nightmare.

And my heart broke for everyone. Everyone. But we must go on.”

I would just add that I hope Wes' legacy survives and rises above a divided society.

He and Kevin built something magnificent, and I was pleased to bask in their glow even briefly.”

”After Melissa Barrera, the fifth and sixth “Scream” star, was sacked from “Scream 7” for promoting Israel and Palestine on social media, the franchise is in upheaval.

In a post regarding the Israel-Hamas War, the actor accused Israel of “genocide and ethnic cleansing” and quoted Jewish Currents about twisting “the Holocaust to boost the Israeli arms industry.”

After the posts, “Scream” producer Spyglass reported that Barrera was dismissed for antisemitic comments, not for supporting Palestine.
