Rebel Moon fans protest to 'greedy' Netflix about the upcoming Zack Snyder picture.

Similar complaints have been made by Netflix users regarding the new film Rebel Moon, which is presently the streaming service's most-watched title.

The new fantasy film is Zack Snyder's (300, Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice) latest release, and it has pushed Aardman sequel Chicken Run:

Dawn of the Nugget and thriller Leave the World Behind down the lists. Snyder's epic is the first installment in a two-part series that will conclude in 2024.

Rebel Moon - Part One: A Child of Fire was released on Netflix on Thursday (21 December) and has gotten a slew of bad reviews from critics, including The Independent, who labeled it "a borderline

While other critics appeared to agree with this assessment, giving the film a pitiful 23% on review aggregation site Rotten Tomatoes, subscribers who have been watching the film appear to disagree. Rebel Moon has a 69% audience rating at the time of writing.

It's somewhat predictable that the picture is doing better with audiences than critics - Snyder is a director with a devoted following, and that following has turned out in force to support his latest film on social media.

Even the most ardent Snyder fan seemed to agree there is one flaw with the film: it needs to be longer.

Messages on social media allege that Rebel Moon has pacing flaws and that Netflix should have published the director's cut, which it delayed in favor of a big reveal in early 2024."I think Netflix holding back a longer — and from what I hear, better

edit really backfired," a viewer remarked. An additional viewer added: "For me there were some slight pacing issues but I imagine those will be more or less fixed in the longer cut."
