NFL world reacts to Derek Carr announcement

A team's last opportunity to have a kind of "dress rehearsal" prior to the start of the regular season is during the last NFL preseason game.

Because of this, teams frequently give the starters a few plays to ensure they're prepared for the start of the season.

However, it doesn't seem as though Derek Carr, the new quarterback for the New Orleans Saints,

will be doing that.Derek Carr will not play in the New Orleans Saints'

final preseason game against the Houston Texans on Sunday night, according to head coach Dennis Allen's recent press conference.

Nick Underhill, a beat writer for the New Orleans Saints, tweeted, "Dennis Allen stated that Derek Carr won't play this week."

Considering that Carr is a new member of the team and is probably still getting to know the offense, the Saints' decision is a little surprising.

Carr only made one appearance for the Saints in the preseason, going 6-of-8 for 70 yards and a touchdown in the team's opening contest against the Chiefs.
