Netflix’s ‘Captains of the World’ Trailer Relives Thrill

Netflix's Captains of the World video shows that last year's World Cup is still going strong.

The six-episode series, released Dec. 30, by the streaming giant and FIFA+ takes viewers behind the scenes of the 2022 FIFA World Cup in November and December.

Captains of the World, produced by Fulwell 73, follows the 2022 series Captains, which followed players' efforts to qualify for the highly anticipated sporting event in Qatar.

.The video debuted Friday and features unique interviews and footage from the new series.

Lionel Messi, Cristiano Ronaldo, Kylian Mbappé, Harry Kane, Gareth Bale, and Simon Kjaer provide insight in Captains of the World.

Messi says, “This is a World Cup, and it’s really tough,” to the camera. “We’ll fight.”

Ronaldo says in the trailer, “Everybody wants to win.”

Argentina defeated Mbappé's France in the 2022 World Cup final on penalty kicks on December 18. Messi, who plays for Inter Miami in MLS, won the Golden Ball as the greatest player.
