How Jonathan Majors was caught and sentenced

Marvel dropped the rising star, who might serve a year in prison.

Jonathan Majors, the Emmy-nominated Lovecraft Country and Creed III performer, was found guilty of misdemeanor assault and harassment after a three-week trial and two days of jury deliberation.

Majors was arrested in New York in March 2023 for a domestic incident with his girlfriend Grace Jabbari. Jabbari's finger was broken by Majors.

Since Majors has portrayed a soft-spoken, sympathetic masculinity throughout his Hollywood career, the original claims shocked fans.

The legal procedure and public opinion struggle revealed several abuse and domestic violence charges against Majors and a lengthy history of dominating and violent behavior.

Less than a week after Manhattan Criminal Court Judge Michael Gaffey unexpectedly released a cache of evidence in the case,

including video of Majors lifting Jabbari and forcing her back into an SUV they had exited and a 911 call Majors made after the incident.

The court also released photos of Jabbari's injuries and an audio clip of Majors from a 2022 incident in which he berated her for getting drunk, called her “a great man,”
