Coppola's New Cut Reveals Every Godfather Part III Change

Coda, The Death of Michael Corleone, released in 2020, and while the 30th anniversary recut doesn't modify the plot of the final Godfather film, it does diverge from Part III.

The 1990 film The Godfather Part III, which ends the trilogy with a whimper, has always been contentious.

Coppola previously released The Godfather Part III: Final Director's Cut in 1991.

The Godfather Coda extensively edited the criticized threequel again.

In The Godfather, Coda: The Death of Michael Corleone, the story remains unchanged.

Instead, Coppola's modifications give The Godfather Trilogy a new tone and purpose.

Coppola previously added an 8-minute exposition to The Godfather Part III's theatrical version for home video.

The title and edit of The Godfather Coda emphasize that the third Godfather is an epilogue rather than a continuation.
