Commanders Reportedly Make Decision On Head Coach Ron Rivera

Unless something unforeseen happens, it appears like the Commanders will have a new coaching staff for the 2024 season.

The Athletic's Diann Russini reported on Saturday that Commanders head coach Ron Rivera is set to be dismissed after the 2023 season.

Furthermore, the Commanders' new ownership group may fire a few front-office employees.

"At this point it's understood around the building based on multiple people I have spoken with that Ron Rivera and some front office members will be fired," Russini stated in a statement.

"Since acquiring the team, new owner Josh Harris has had the vision to retain Rivera until the end of the season, then move on." It's really no longer a secret."

This Russini article backs up what ESPN insiders Jeremy Fowler and John Keim claimed earlier this month.

"It feels like a new staff is coming across the board," wrote Fowler and Keim.

Rivera has been the Commanders' head coach since 2020. His finest season was an 8-8-1 record in 2022.
