Aaron Rodgers Officially Signs $150M Contract Extension With Packer

On Tuesday, sources told NFL Network's Ian Rapoport and Tom Pelissero that Rodgers' new contract was official and signed

The signing was later made public by the team.

Rodgers elected to return to Green Bay last week, and he did so with a new four-year contract agreement that will make him the highest-paid NFL player per year.

Rodgers and the Packers argued for a week over how the deal would be structured.

Rodgers will earn an average of $50 million each year for the first three years.

Rapoport also stated that the contract contains two placeholders on the back end that might be adjusted if the salary cap is reached.

In a statement, Packers general manager Brian Gutekunst stated, "We are very happy to be able to reach an agreement with Aaron that keeps him in Green Bay."

Rodgers was set to earn a base salary of $26.47 million and a salary cap of $46.664 million in 2022

Because of the new contract, his salary will increase this season, but the salary cap will decrease.

According to Pelissero, the Packers' quarterback will earn $42 million in 2022, $59.515 million in 2023, and $49.3 million in 2024. This will bring him to $150.815 million in three years.
