$18M ‘Migration’, $40M ‘Aquaman 2’, and $31M ‘Wonka’ lead the Christmas 4-Day Box Office.

FRIDAY AFTERNOON: According to tracking, Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom from Warner Bros./DC is expected to arrive at $40 million over the course of four days.

Nevertheless, Warners may take pride—and CEO David Zaslav can feel content—in having the top two movies at the box office,

and Wonka's second weekend in the No. 2 place with an estimated $31 million for the Dec. 22–25 period bolsters that claim.

Aquaman 2's opening weekend at 3,706 cinemas brings in $14 million, including previews.

On its second Friday, Wonka has made $7 million (-51%), or $22 million over three days at 4,213 cinemas. According to reports, Color Purple's Christmas Day gross might be between $10 million and $12 million.

This would place it in the fourth position behind Illumination and Universal's Migration,

which is estimated to collect $18 million at 3,761 locations. This is a better than anticipated outcome.

With box office results like these, Aquaman 2's Zack Snyder era at DC is coming to an end.
